Hand Hygiene

I know it seems like a small thing, but hand hygiene is the single most important thing that you can do for your client. I know, I know, we all know how to wash our hands. During COVID, it seemed like everyone was a handwashing instructor. But it’s easy to forget the simplest things and when you’re working overtime, running around making sure it all gets done, it’s the simplest things that get left behind. Remember. to wash your hands you should:

1. Wet your hands

2. Lather with soap, front and back

3. Don’t forget in between fingers and under/around fingernails!

4. Scrub vigorously for 20 seconds (that’s the happy birthday song twice)

5. Rinse thoroughly

6. Dry thoroughly
